At the 1911 Census John Lindsay and wife, Bessie Lindsay were living in 3 Percy Terrace, Bellingham with John working as a railway goods guard. Further information on all members of this family is non-existent. It is possible that John was the son of John Lindsay and Helen Lindsay of 40 Nelson Street Largs but there were many Lindsay families in the area around the time of his birth. Bessie, or Elizabeth’s history is equally obscure and there are no available records of Kate’s birth. It is possible that after leaving Bellingham the family went back to Scotland or emigrated. There is a record of a Mr and Mrs Lindsay, but no offspring, emigrating to Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1913.
