Jane lived in 2 Cruddas Terrace, Bellingham in 1871 with her husband John. She was born at Kerseycleugh, Falstone and was almost certainly the granddaughter of George Dagg, a farmer. (No relationship was given but he was 69 at the 1841 Census and she was 8) she was a house servant at The Rooking, Troughend in 1851. She married William Dobson in Hexham in 1859 where her father’s name is given as William Hedley. William was a sailor, but he is recorded as having been killed aboard the Louisa on 16 June 1860 leaving at least one child, Elizabeth. Jane married Thomas Richardson on 29 October 1866. Thomas was eight years younger than Jane. In 1881 they were living at Oxcleugh, Shitlington, in 1891 at West Whygate, Wark and in 1901 at Willowbog. They had at least three children as well as Elizabeth Dobson. Jane died in the second quarter of 1906.
