Robson, Maggie Elizabeth (nee Pigg)

Margaret (Maggie) Pigg was the daughter of Christopher, a tailor and Mary Elizabeth. She was born on 4 October 1895 and baptised in Bellingham on 10 November 1895. The family were living in 1 Brookside Place, Bellingham and in 1901, although Christopher was away from home, (Mary) Elizabeth was looking after Henry (7), Margaret (5) and Nora (1). Ten years later, Christopher was in residence, Harry (aged 17) was a greaser and Nora aged 11 a scholar but no occupation is given for Maggie. In 1919 Maggie married James Robert Robson and in 1921 she, James and one year old Nora Robson were living with James’s mother, Mary Jane in 1 Percy Terrace. James was a railway fireman and although still employed in that capacity in 1939 had qualified as a driver. The family were living in 7 Reedsmouth Road. Son, Thomas had been born in 1922 and Nora was a Post Office assistant. James died in 1968 and Maggie died aged eighty-two early in 1978.
