	Willie worked on the Council road gang and I remember daughter Theresa oldest and Mary the youngest. They were devout Catholics so we the Daltons being Church of England hadn’t much to do with them. We were the only two families in the street that attended churches. I cannot remember any other family that were attenders to a church. The young Welton girls went to the Catholic school where there may have been one teacher, as well as the priest Father Delaney who taught. 	The Cowans lived in the end house where there was just room for very small vehicles like butcher Stanley Telfer’s van to turn around. Jake Cowan drove an ex-army wagon like Tommy Smith also for Hugh Thompson and also parked it alongside Tommy Smith adding to wrecking the drain down the drive to the road. Mother Kate Cowan ran the home and they had a daughter Jenny.
