&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;New page&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div&gt;William lived in [[4 Percy Terrace]] at the 1911 Census. He was the son of Thomas, a railway clerk and Christina and was born in Newington, Edinburgh on 23 May 1883. His mother died sometime between the 1891 and 1901 censuses and in 1901 his fifteen-year-old sister, Elizabeth was looking after the family. William was working as a railway waggon number taker. In the second quarter of 1905 he married [[Beattie, Ann Isabella|Ann Isabella Charlton]] in Gateshead. In 1911 they were living with their two young sons – Thomas William Beattie (4) and John Beattie (1) in [[4 Percy Terrace]]. William was employed as a railway engine stoker. Their son George C Beattie’s birth was registered in Newcastle in 1917 indicating an early move from Bellingham. The next record of the couple is the 1939 Register when they were living at 16 Parmently St., Newcastle. William was a locomotive driver. They had at least one other child since George C Beattie, a fitter and turner born 9, June 1917 was living with them. William died in Newcastle in the fourth quarter 1970.&lt;br /&gt;
