He was born in Ridsdale on 26 April 1870. At the 1891 Census he was described as a cartman and ten years later he was a cartman on his own account. In the fourth quarter of 1900 he married Florence Priscilla Margery Tindall in Chester-le-Street. ~~His history after Bellingham isn’t clear. The death of Wiliam H D Todd was recorded in Chester-le-Street in the first quarter of 1926.
