Amy Allcroft was born in February 1904 at Falstone. Her father William Robert was publican at The Black Cock Inn, Falstone in the early 1900's. Her mother was Sarah (nee Henderson). Amy taught at Emblehope school from around 1923 (when there were eight pupils). The photo from about 1932 (when school closed) shows Amy on her daily trek across the moors between Falstone and Emblehope school, a round trip of some 9 miles.(Among others possibly) She taught the Andersons at Emblehope.

In 1934 Amy was Falstone Rating Officer. In 1939 Amy married local bus driver Norman Fox. Amy Fox died in 1975.
