Davidson, Turnbull

Turnbull Davidson was born on 19 February 1890 at Harnham, and went to Great Bavington School when he was living at Kidlaw. He was at Great Bavington School with James Clapperton. However, Turnbull's connection with Bavington and what was then Bellingham Rural District ended in 1912 when he and his family emigrated to Saskatchewan, Canada. He enlisted with the 53rd Battalion Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force in April 1915, and was fighting in France by June. He was killed on 10 October 1918. He is comemmorated on the Roll of Heroes in Great Bavington United Reformed Church. [1]
