Nichols, Eva
Eva Nichols (nee Tulip) was the wife of Noah Nichols and lived at 8 Percy Terrace, Bellingham in 1939. She was born in Ovingham on 21 September 1901 to John Thomas Tulip, a tailor, and Elsie Mary Tulip. In 1921 she was working as a clerk for the West Wylam and Prudhoe Co-operative Society. The whereabouts of her father at this time is unknown – her mother in the ‘marital status’ column entered, “unknown, husband missing.” In 1932 Eva’s marriage to Noah Nichols was registered in Hexham. On 7 May 1935 she gave birth to a son, John Philip Nichols. The family seem to have moved to north-west England. Eva’s death at the age of seventy-two was recorded in Congleton and Crewe in the second quarter of 1974. John Philip died in Warrington in 1965 and Noah in Sefton in 1993.
