Wallace, Arthur David Monkhouse
Arthur David Monkhouse Wallace was born in Carlisle to George and Margaret Wallace on 30 December 1890. He was baptised in Holy Trinity, Carlisle on 14 January 1891. His father, and one of his brothers were described as cloggers in the 1891 Census but later George was a dealer in coal and firewood. The family lived at 16, John Street, Caldewgate, Carlisle. In the 1911 Census Arthur was working as a railway clerk and lodging with Dorothy Brown at 1 Cruddas Terrace. Arthur married Euphemia Hope in Roxburgh on 15 September 1917 and died in Caldercruix in 1939.
