Isabella Maddison (nee Brown) was born in Lesbury in 1837 and was the daughter of Andrew, a shepherd and Jane. The family moved to Embleton and Longframlington before Isabella married James Maddison in Rothbury in the 4th quarter of 1879. She and James had five children including two sets of twins as they moved from Rothbury to Cruddas Terrace (9 Cruddas Terrace), Bellingham and then to Elswick as James followed employment as a railway engine driver. Isabella died aged 46 in Newcastle in the 4th quarter of 1902.
