Isabella Maddison (nee Brown) was born in Lesbury in 1837 and was the daughter of Andrew, a shepherd and Jane. The family moved to Embleton and Longframlington before Isabella married [[James Maddison]] in Rothbury in the 4th quarter of 1879. She and James had five children including two sets of twins as they moved from Rothbury to [[Cruddas Terrace]] ([[9 Cruddas Terrace]]), Bellingham and then to Elswick as James followed employment as a railway engine driver. Isabella died aged 46 in Newcastle in the 4th quarter of 1902.
