Todd, Mary (Nee Hixon)

Mary was born in Bellingham in 1841 and baptised in the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, Bellingham on 25 April 1842. She was the daughter of Joseph Hixon, a well known Bellingham master blacksmith and his wife, Sarah. She married William Todd in Bellingham in the first quarter of 1867 and was living at 9, Rendle Terrace, Ridsdale in 1871 although their first child, Joseph was born in Lumley, County Durham. They moved from Ridsdale to Cruddas Terrace where they were resident in 1871 (1 Cruddas Terrace) and 1881 (6 Cruddas Terrace) respectively. She was widowed in 1896 and she died aged 58 in Bellingham in the 3rd quarter 1899.
