William, the son of William Todd and Mary Todd lived in Cruddas Terrace, Bellingham in 1881 (1 Cruddas Terrace), 1891 and 1901. He was born in Ridsdale on 26 April 1870. At the 1891 Census he was described as a cartman and ten years later he was a cartman on his own account. In the fourth quarter of 1900 he married Florence Priscilla Margery Tindall in Chester-le-Street. At the 1911 and 1921 Censuses William and Florence had moved to Springwell, Gateshead. On both occasions they were living with William’s brother, Joseph, and his wife, at The Hawthorns. William had changed his occupation to that of joiner and more specifically in 1921 as a joiner for the Birtley Coal Company. The death of Wiliam H D Todd was recorded in Chester-le-Street in the first quarter of 1926.
